Philips HR1855 Viva Juicer €79.99 - Save €70
This is an excellent juicer from the ever reliable Philips. It makes good juice fast and gets the most out of your fruit and vegetables, which is why it's an Irish Deal Best Buy.
An affordable centrifugal juicer it has been designed to be easy to clean, with a built-in pulp collector, and smooth rounded design. Philips claims it can be cleaned up in a minute and produces 'maximum juice with minimum fuss'.
It's a great all-rounder , producing smooth juice, and particularly good orange juice. It's quick, the 700-watt motor cuts through the toughest ingredients in seconds and extracts loads of juice, even from vegetables.
Noise isn't a problem with this model, and it's simple and logical to assemble.
Cleaning does take a little longer than the claimed 'minute' but it is still easier than many other models. All the pulp ends up in the internal container, which has smooth edges making it easy to sweep clean with the brush of a hand
The extra large feeding tube lets you simply drop whole fruits and vegetables in, with no cutting required.
As you would expect with such a zippy juicer, the resulting juice is quite foamy, but the jug has a built-in foam separator for those who want a foam-free drink. The vegetable juice does tend to be a little bitty.
Being built into the body of the juicer, the pulp container has a fairly small capacity, so you may have to dismantle the juicer mid-run to empty it if juicing large quantities in one go, which could be annoying.
There is only one speed setting, some softer fruits tended to spit slightly, and there's no anti-drip feature.
All removable parts are dishwasher safe.
The instructions are rather poor and only include one recipe. Luckily, it's so easy to use you aren't likely to need them and there is a good quick-start guide on the box.
There is a glossy black version and a premium brushed-steel version HR1863.
We Couldn't find a better One. This is a great, stylish juicer at a very reasonable price. For committed juicers, it's relatively small capacity for pulp collection might be an obstacle.
Pros: Great at juicing, easy to use and clean
Cons: Drips, One Speed
